City of Science
Bremen_Bremerhaven
Knowledge has a future: The two-city State of Bremen and Bremerhaven
exemplifies a dynamic location for science and technology that is
dedicated to the furtherance of knowledge and research.
By the year 2010 the State of Bremen intends to rise to the fore of
technology regions in Germany and likewise consolidate its
modernization programme. Today it already boasts an exceptional
science infrastructure, comprising five universities and one
civil-service college, some 20 internationally networked research
institutes, some of them quite prominent, and a booming technology
park that overarches the interface between economy and science.
Enterprises are increasingly turning to these "think tanks" to help
them develop innovative products and services.
As holders of the award "city of science 2005", Bremen and
Bremerhaven are focussing above all on making science more
easily understandable for the general public and creating an
active dialogue with society.
